Beauty Takes Time
In 2025, I planted roses in my garden and began looking forward to what they would become.
This year, they gave me only about twelve blooms. One of those roses became the clipping that inspired this painting.
There is something beautiful about planting something before you know exactly what it will become—tending it, waiting, noticing each new bloom, and trusting that what feels small in one season may look completely different in the next.
As I painted this rose clipping, I found myself thinking about how much of life is like that.
Growth takes time. Gardens take time. Becoming takes time.
I don't know how many roses those plants will give me next season, but I look forward to seeing what grows.
Beauty Takes Time is a reminder not to rush the season you're in simply because you haven't seen the fullness of what was planted yet.
Sometimes twelve blooms are only the beginning.
There is beauty in the becoming.
