Hope has a way of inviting us to keep moving forward, even when we cannot see the entire path ahead.
Guided by Hope was painted live with loose, expressive brushstrokes and layers of color that were allowed to develop intuitively on the canvas. Soft blush pink flowers rise from a golden watering can, while a rich purple surface and light blue background bring unexpected color and contrast to the piece.
I love that the vessel in this painting isn't a traditional vase.
A watering can is meant to pour out—to carry what brings nourishment and growth to something else. That simple idea gives this piece another layer of meaning for me.
There are seasons when we don't know exactly what God is doing or where He is leading. We simply continue taking the next step, tending what He has placed in front of us and trusting Him with what we cannot yet see.
Guided by Hope was inspired by that kind of trust.
“Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long.” — Psalm 25:5
This painting is a reminder that hope doesn't require knowing the entire story.
Sometimes hope simply looks like trusting God enough to keep going.
