Growing Together
Some things were never meant to grow alone.
Growing Together developed through loose, expressive marks as florals began to emerge and gather within an abstracted vessel.
Rather than carefully defining every flower, leaf, or edge, I allowed the composition to unfold intuitively—letting color, movement, and layers guide the painting.
Deep reds mingle with softer pinks while earthy olive greens weave throughout the arrangement. The elongated canvas gives the florals room to reach, overlap, and grow alongside one another, while the loosely suggested vessel grounds everything together.
As I painted, I found myself thinking about how much this resembles our own lives.
We each have our own seasons of growth.
Sometimes one person is blooming while another is still becoming. Sometimes we stretch in different directions. Sometimes the people growing beside us become part of the very environment that helps us flourish.
We don't have to grow in exactly the same way or bloom at exactly the same time to belong beside one another.
There is beauty in becoming individually, but there is also something incredibly special about what happens when we grow together.
Growing Together is a reminder that there is room for each of us to grow, bloom, and become while still being beautifully connected.
