Artist Statement

I did not begin painting professionally because I wanted to become an artist.

I began painting because something in me needed a place to go.

After attending an art healing workshop, I unexpectedly walked through one of the deepest losses of my life when my mother passed away. In the middle of grief, I found myself painting almost daily for nearly a month — often while listening to worship music, praying, processing, and simply sitting with God.

What began as expression slowly became encounter.

Through color, texture, layering, movement, and even the unpredictability of paint itself, I started realizing how much creating reflected the nature of the Creator. I became fascinated by the process — the way colors blend, shift, muddy, brighten, soften, and transform through layers. So much of it felt connected to life, healing, growth, and the garden-like process of becoming.

My work is deeply inspired by worship, Scripture, light, atmosphere, and the beauty that can emerge from broken places. Many pieces contain layered fragments of Scripture or hidden marks beneath the surface, representing the way truth remains present even when life feels messy or unfinished.

I do not create from perfection.
I create from process.
I create to worship Him.

My hope is that each piece carries a sense of peace, honesty, softness, and presence — inviting others to slow down, breathe, reflect, and encounter beauty in a deeply human and spiritual way.
